Not sure what is happening here- this is an experiment that I'm working on, stemming from the space and compositions seen in Gestalt. I'm working through questions like "How much description do the objects need?," "Do I need a strong structural hierarchy?," and "How legible or illegible can the work be?" Lately I've found that light and "finished" qualities are becoming less important, and the shapes, drawing, and interplay of the objects are taking precedence.

A few days ago I hung a group of my paintings, collectively titled "Gestalt," in the graduate show, "Self and Other", at the Picotte Hall Student Gallery in the College of Saint Rose's Center for Art and Design. I'm pleased with how they look together as well as individually.

I am excited to start up this little blog, and hope to post my work as it evolves. Please feel free to ask questions or share your thoughts!
